2010 Edit Foundry Digital Video Workshop

The Edit Foundry is a workshop with the emphasis in the craft of Video Editing.

The workshop will run from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.

• This is NOT for beginners, you must have at least six months experience editing on Final Cut.
• This is a hands-on video editing workshop. You’ll learn from an experienced Final Cut user, and apply what you learn immediately.
• You’ll edit on Final Cut Pro in a college setting.
• All video cuts will be supplied for the workshop.

What the workshop will focus on

• Trimming — how using the trim tool can make you a better, more efficient editor.
• Editing on action and movement — how to make your edits less noticeable.
• Simple effects — effects that aren’t over the top but add to the storytelling process.
• J and L cuts — the theory behind them and how to apply them to everyday editing.
• YouTube editing — pans, shaky video — editing tricks you can apply to make your video look better.
